The more of Twain I read, the more I like the guy

Mark Twain’s “War Prayer” , it’s short, you can read it in 5 minutes…

Tons of people in the Streets of San Francisco the past couple of days. The helicopters
have been circling forever. I was downtown yesterday, the vast magority of people were peaceful.
The TV keeps showing the same couple of violent protestors/rablerousers and ignoring the thousands of
peaceful people in the streets. I guess it sells soap better to show violent images. That’s sad.

storm coming off the ocean.
the wind is banging the rain int othe window, the whole place shakes.
i ate the better part of a ben and jerry’s carmel sutra tonight ‘for dinner’
it seemed like a good idea at the time “just a couple scoops”

making pizza tonight. yum. the pizza stone is the best kitchen utensil i think, well after the cast iron pan.

tommorow is the anti-war march in sf. i think the rain is going to make it small.

trying out the new Java vm for MacOS X (1.4) and the X11 subsystem. Changing two things at once, never a good idea. We’ll see how it goes.

Working a new shareware app, should get it released before the end of the month. I was hoping to get it done in January but got too busy.

biked from san francisco to mountain view yesterday. from sf to ocean beach and then down skyline blvd. (or should i say UP Skyline!) left SF around 11am, got to mountain view just before 5pm. Thats a lot time on a bike, but the trip was amazing. Skyline basically runs along the San Andreas fault line and there are paths for a long part of the way. Biking on 35 was kind of sketchy in SF since people go 70mph in the 50 zone, not that 50 wouldn’t be good either.
The lakes were amazing, we saw tons of deer, a buzzard, some coots and tons of other birds. Canada road was great since they shut it off to car traffic on sundays.
