Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Thought you might be interested in some recall maps I was playing with
today. Took California counties mapped w/ area proportional to their
population and then painted based on election results.

While the Arnold win was a blow out (boo hiss) I think it’s interesting
to see how the maps look when you correct for population density.

GET OUT AND VOTE!

Went out and voted today. The first question was easy.

No on the recall.

The next question was harder, who to vote for. What was nice this time though was that there tons of people to chose from. If only every election was like this, except with instant runnoff voting.

A boy can dream.

Here’s and excellent link to the San Francisco League of Women Voters who have all the info you ever wanted of getting registered and the issues up in the next election.

Oct 20th is the last day to register for the November Mayoral election here in San Francisco.

THis news doesn’t surpise me at the least

“A safety group said more than two-thirds of motorists in a survey either failed to come to a complete stop at intersections or stopped only after the vehicle had entered the crosswalk, a finding the group called especially worrisome in neighborhoods where children walk to school.”

I believe that Right on Red has been an interesting experiment but that it has failed. It may decrease waiting times/fuel burned, but reduces livabilty/walkabilty of cities.

Went to the San Francisco (Mostly) Strictly Bluegrass Festival yesterday and today. It was great. Saw people I had never heard of, but who played really good music. We only ended up going since a friend was in town specifically to go. There’s got to be millions of things like this going on every weekend in the city that we end up missing since we either never hear about them or don’t motivate.

I highly recommend it next year. Willy Nelson played this year, we watched a little bit but it had gotten so crowded in order to see him. Otherwise you could get right up to the stage for pretty much any act you wanted to see.
