I should have biked into work today, but when I woke up it was pouring and I have picked up rain pants. Then I got outside and it was beautiful. Oh well, and today is Critical Mass in San Francisco (and many other cities around the world.

Working hard in order to get Palamida ready for the next beta cycle. Things have been going smoothly and are accelerating.

I’ve been trying to get 8 hours of sleep a night in order to stay on the top of my game. Last night I was thwarted by drunks. Ugh. At 3 in the morning. Double Ugh.

I have to say I am disappointed in the current crop of ftp clients for MacOS X.
I have been trying to get local copies of all the web sites I am currently am in charge of onto my local machine. In the past I simple used Fetch and had a perfect problem free local copy of my web site, public and private sections.

Having tried Transmit, Fugo and MacOS X’s included Finder ftp client I have to say they have all failed me.

Transmit died when it encountered dead symbolic links, Fugu is a work in progress, usually quit good but won’t log into some of my accounts and the Finder just stinks, it give me spinning pizza of death far too often. It also doesn’t seem to make it east to log in with username and password (except putting them in the standard URL format which is u-g-l-y). come on Apple I expect better out of you.

Listened to my Descendents albumn today after far too long. I forgot I had it. Cleaning up the house has its benefits I guess.

Redid my front page to my home page today, I hadn’t touched it since October 29, 1999 , wow. Stuff behind the scenes changed all the time, but there wasn’t too much reason to mess with the front page. Oh well, I finally decided it was time to add some tables to make everything look nicer, plus add this blog and my Walking in San Francisco
blog to my home page. Walking in San Francisco is a collection of photos and observations about the streets of San Francisco.

Met with the WalkSF web team last night. We’re going to redo the web site to do things like remove all the crappy frames and add a content managment system. We’re currently looking for a good one. I think it will take a couple months to change over from the current way of doin things (files edited by hand) to something more blogger/movable type like.

For some reason this excellent piece of software doesn’t appear high up in google’s listing for the terms (ftp client macos x)

Fugu’s a pretty nice free ftp program for MacOS X:

Watched the Steve Jobs keynote this morning which shaving. I missed the end, so I’m waiting for sites like Macintouch to update their notes of the talk.
Back in the grove at work after a couple weeks of vacation. Two weeks was the perfect amount, I don’t know we Americans don’t push for more.
Off to Macworld tommorow or the next day. It’s all of 2 blocks away, so it’s hard to stay away.

Saw the movie “Paycheck”, save your money. An interesting idea ruined by bad acting.
I’d watch it on the plane, but not rent it.
